Mesquite ISD Community Education and Alcohol Substance Abuse Program (ASAP)
Offer
MINOR IN POSSESSION/ALCOHOL AWARENESS CLASSES
In accordance with Senate Bill 35, enacted in September 1997, minors cited for alcohol–related offenses, such as Minor in Possession (MIP), Driving Under the Influence (DUI), Consumption and Attempted Purchase, may be ordered to attend an alcohol awareness class.
The class is six (6) hours in length, divided into two (2) three–hour classes. Students must be on time and they must attend both sessions as well as the Exit Interview, which occurs immediately after the end of the second session, in order to receive their court certificate. Students must register in person and pay for the class prior to the first session.
Minor in Possession (MIP)/Alcohol Awareness classes are offered once a month through Mesquite ISD's Community Education department. The fee is $60. Students age 17 and older may register alone. If student is 16 or younger, a parent MUST accompany the student to register. The student attends the classes alone.
This course requires IN-PERSON REGISTRATION ONLY. Please view our MIP/Alcohol Awareness class and registration information at:
